Nursing care and medical treatments are provided for residents by our dedicated and experienced nurses.Residents are adminstered the medical treatments which are essential for their recovery and wellbeing. Nursing care services include the changing of feeding tubes, changing of unrinary catheters, adminstering of meals and other forms of care managements. In addition, Our nurses assess the mental states of residents and observe for any therapeutic effects of the medications.
Psychiatric Residential Care
Sunlove Home provides psychiatric residential care for our intellectually infirmed residents. Psychiatric residential care focuses on improving the quality of lives of our residents and treating their mental impairment. This will help to build their self esteem and self worth so that they can be reintegrated back into the society. The main services of the psychiatric residential care are nursing care and medical treatment, rehabilitative programmes, social therapy and going on outings.
Rehabilitative programmes aim to provide psychological support to residents while building their self worth so that they will face lesser difficulties when intergrating back into the society. In addition, they also aid in the restoration of mental functioning and well-being of our residents. The programmes include learning interactive skills, participating in simple activities like exercising and dancing,and engaging in the activites of daily living and socialising which are instrumental for their recovery.
Social therapy is essential for the mental and psychological wellbeing of our residents. Social interaction will help residents to improve thier interactve skills, which are essential for reintegration into the society. It will also improve the ability of resident's to deal with their emotions and the environment. Sunlove Home often welcome volunteers who engage in friendly and meaningful interactions with our residents. These interactions include befriending, dance, handicraft and group exercise.
Outings are conducted once every month for our residents. These outings serve as an enjoyable way for our residents to get in touch with the society, while exploring Singapore at the same time. In addition, these outings help to bond the Sunlove residents, allowing them to develop meaningful friendships through these shared experiences. Outings are facilitated by volunteers and proffesional staff members of the Home. Previous outings have been conducted at Haw Par Villa, Marina Bay Sands and Sentosa.
