Sunlove Home

History

Sunlove Home was founded in 1987 by Mr. Wee Lin. The Home has since come a long way from its humble beginnings as a disused chicken farm with three patients. Today, the Home is providing residential care to 200 intellectually infirmed residents. By offering compassionate help through different programs, Sunlove Home aims to reintegrate the residents back to the society, build their self-esteem, and restore hope to the individual.

Milestones

  • Mr Wee Lin converted a chicken farm into a makeshift home to house twenty psychiatric patients.Later, the Home moved to the newly converted and refurbished Trafalgar Home.
  • Sunlove was granted a new land to build a new home. The building project witnessed the installation of new and improved facilities,which was funded by the Minstry of Health.
  • On 15th January, the residents were relocated to the new building and operations commenced.
  • The leasing of the land for Surya Home ended, and was reclaimed by the Singapore Land Authority.
  • On 15th January, the residents of the Surya Home were temporarily relocated to Sunlove Home at IMH and SILRA.
